It never ceases to amaze me that once there was a time when VH1 was known as “Your parents’ MTV.” It was a home for artists like Michael Bolton, Celine Dion and other lite-FM-ready songsters who were unwelcome in the land of big hair, skintight pants and way-too-long guitar solos.
